What’s wrong with England 1
This article is worth a read. It’s about a worker at the Scottish Library who has been forbidden to display a Saltire at their work desk. On the grounds it may “intimidate non-Scottish workers”.
Personally I think it’s fair enough for an employer to restrict what employees have on their desks but it looks like there’s a bit of fuss brewing over it.
Lets get things in perspective though. At least there is a Scottish Library. England; the birthplace of one of the most important and widely spoken languages in the history of humanity doesn’t even have an “English Library”. We have the “British Library” instead.
In fact the English have vitually no institutions. It’s one of the many things that are wrong with the place. There’s no English Museum – but there’s a British Museum (and it’s about God damned time they gave the Elgin Marbles back and everything else pilfered over the years). There’s no English Institute of Architects, or Doctors, or Lawyers or Skip hire merchants. It’s all British this and Royal that and it stinks to high heaven as far as I’m concerned.
And of course there’s no English Parliament.
I wish I knew what to do about it. For a while I thought the English Democrats were the way forward, but the some of the chraccters involved and their complete lack of strategic awareness (not to mention malice) are in severe danger of doing more harm than good.
There’s the CEP – Gods bless em, but it’s like watching treacle running up hill. You can’t tell them anything.
Plod on I suppose. It all counts. But I tell you friend, there’s not much hope for old England while the people who supposedly care, continue put their own fragile egos and reputations first.
