More on that Justice Committee
You wouldn’t know it from the BBC report, but Mike Knowles of the Campaign for an English Parliament also gave evidence to the Justice Committee.
There’s an official CEP press release on politics.co.uk it might even appear on the CEP website at some point.
Quite an interesting spread of MPs and guests:
Rt. Hon Alan Beith MP, Chairman, (Liberal Democrat, Berwick-upon-Tweed), Daniel Kawczynski MP (Conservative, Shrewsbury and Atcham), the Rt Hon Alun Michael MP (Labour-Cooperative, Cardiff South and Penarth), Julie Morgan MP (Labour, Cardiff North), Virenda Sharma MP (Labour, Southall) and Dr Alan Whitehead MP (Labour, Southampton Test)
Other witnesses were the Rt Hon Kenneth Clarke QC MP (Conservative, Rushcliffe), Vernon Bogdanor CBE, FBA (Professor of Government, Oxford University) Lord Tyler of Linkinhorne, Liberal Democrat peer in the House of Lords and Peter Facey (Director of Unlock Democracy).
