What’s he up to today? Well he’s going to ignore the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD) and raise Cannabis from category C to B.

What will the effects of that be?

Well for starters it won’t stop anyone smoking a spliff. It won’t stop the drug dealers. It won’t stop the scourge of gang warfare in our inner cities. It won’t stop people trying harder drugs. It will however mean that the police (and CPS) will have to divert resources from more serious issues to prosecute people who choose to smoke a bit of dope.

I have never, in all my life - seen anyone who needs to smoke a spliff more than our anally retentive prime cretin.

You never know - it might even put a genuine smile on face.
