McGollum Brown, hero of the Union has vowed to do “whatever is necessary” to preserve the Union.
“Whatever is necessary.” Alarm bells ringing?
On face value this means getting the Unionist parties to unite and work together to preserve the UK. It also means the BBC will be ratcheting up the Britishness levels even more. Expect predictions from all sides of the British establishment that the world will end if the Scots vote for independence.
Scotland aside, from this English loyalist’s perspective what will preserve the Union is:
1. Scrapping the Barnett Formula - equal funding for UK subjects
2. Create an English Parliament with powers equal to the Scottish Parliament
3. Abandon plans for English regionalisation
